Group travel to New Zealand for high school students

Going for a period of study in a New Zealand high school or language institute is the occasion when groups of children travel with StudyNewZealand. Whatever the reason, and whatever the size of the group, it is always a very exciting adventure for children, however, it is important that there is adequate adult supervision to ensure their safety and well-being. For this reason, StudyNewZealand chooses that there should be at least one adult for every ten children travelling who are above the age of 12, but under the age of 16. StudyNewZealand has a group of female adults available to accompany groups to New Zealand.

Border authorities recommend that persons travelling with a child (under 18 years of age) who is not their child, carry a consent document or letter (signed by the parent or lawful guardian of the child) as well as a copy of the child's birth certificate, to prove that the travellers have the permission of the absent lawful parent(s) or guardian. StudyNewZealand requires these documents before the child is accepted in a travel group.

Safety and well-being
The safety of your children is our first concern when you are travelling with us. So it is important that your kid(s) follow any instructions from the accompanying adult and when on a plane the instructions from the Cabin Crew.

Please also note that international safety and hygiene regulations do not allow Cabin Crew to feed children, administer medication, take children to the toilet, change nappies, or allow children to run through the aircraft.

While Cabin Crew cannot administer medication, they usually do have eucalyptus sachets available to help children suffering from ear-ache during take off or descent. Children do seem to be more susceptible than adults to the changes in air pressure, and this is especially so if they are suffering from a cold, or have tonsil or adenoid problems. If your child has these problems, it is advisable to see a doctor before travelling.

The StudyNewZealand offer
Especially for our younger clients, we organise group flights to New Zealand. We will organise the tickets and the pick-up in New Zealand. But also an adult will accompany the group from the departure airport to all the pick-up points in New Zealand.

A group has to have a minimum number of 10 and a maximum of 15. Over the number of 15, a second adult will join, or we organise a second group flight. If we do not have enough students in a group, we will team up with other agencies in Europe to get a group together.

We will need a consent form signed by the parents.

StudyNewZealand will strive to organise a national, or in case of larger groups of students, several national, meetings before departure. Both to talk about the upcoming study, accommodation arrangements as well as about the group flight. StudyNewZealand will endeavour to have a native speaker present, but we cannot guarantee that. This will be mentioned in the invitation.

Price 250 euro plus ticket price
For these group flights, the normal, discounted group flight ticket fee needs to be paid, plus a fee of 250 euro for the handling and the accompanying adult. Unfortunately, this fee is non-refundable if you cancel the group flight, also the normal cancellation fees of the airline apply. You will sign for this while signing the consent form as well.

Procedure and deadlines
To be sure we get the most out of our group booking it is essential to book, pay and send us the consent form, well in advance. If a group has already been formed, but a place is still available, we can add your child to the group. However, late booking usually cannot be made for the same price as the original group booking. We ask your understanding for this fact.
