Duke Institute of Studies, Takapuna Beach, Auckland 2022 plans

In New Zealand we are looking forward to the festive season and being able to go on our holidays.  Our school shuts for 2 weeks from 17 December 2021.

We started 2021 well and hoped it would be a better year than 2020. Life returned to the "new normal" when suddenly the country went into lockdown. We endured full-on lockdown for 15 weeks where we could not see family and friends and had to stay home.  We could go for short walks and go to the supermarket or chemist.  It was not very enjoyable and everyone who could, worked from home.  Only essential workers worked away from home.

Shops re-opened about 3 weeks ago, as did schools and we were allowed to return to work also, our students were happy as on-line is difficult. Hospitality and cinemas opened last Friday with a limit of 100 people.

At DIOS we are looking forward to the International Border re-opening by April/ May/June to allow tourists/students back in. These months have been suggested so far and we are patiently waiting for the final decision. We have to get on with our lives as the border will have been closed to visitors for over two years by then. 

We have started to accept applications for May onwards and if these dates change we can easily move the course start dates. At DIOS we look forward to a WAY better 2022 and a re-start with student arrivals.
