Gap Year in 2021or 22 at The International Travel College of New Zealand?

Thinking of taking a gap year in 2021? Why not take it at ITC in New Zealand? A gap year can be a fantastic thing - it's a time spent in between different stages of life where you learn, grow, and prepare for the next steps. If you’re ready to spend a year learning, travelling, meeting people, and thinking about what to do next, an ITC qualification could be for you.

Following a year of study with us, students can sign up for an international exchange with ITC. ITC works with The Broadmoor to place students in overseas jobs, which can range from four months to a full year. Or after studying, students can also go on to work in the industry here in New Zealand, where tourism is already seeing an uptick thanks to the domestic market.

Student visa and COVID-19 in New Zealand

Unfortunately, the New Zealand borders still remain closed to most international students, however they have now opened up a Trans-Tasman bubble. This allows people from Australia to visit New Zealand without the need to quarantine. It is good to see some progress being made to open up New Zealand to the world again.

Please send your applications through for the second semester of 2021 or the academic year 2022 and we can issue paperwork for you and put you on a waiting list. When we have more confirmation of borders opening we can then progress the applications further. Please know, first come, first served!

The exception today is a balanced decision that recognises the vital role international education will play in the recovery and rebuild of New Zealand and the need to continue the fight against the pandemic. It will enable us to welcome back a good portion of those PhD and Masters students who are caught off-shore, and who need to be in New Zealand to complete their work.

Welcome from Ms Deb Mills Deputy Principal International Newlands College, New Zealand

Spring is now here in Wellington, giving us a lovely feel that summer is not far away!!!

Our current students have been outstanding; their wellbeing has been at the forefront of all of our decisions. While they are very sad about not being able to return home for the holidays and connect with their natural parents, family members and friends, our host families have been amazing. They have nurtured them and provided excellent support to them and for this I am most grateful.

I would like to congratulate the International Students on a very positive term and I look forward to celebrating their successes with them in Term 4.
