ETC Internship Program

Nowadays students find themselves confronted with high expectations of future employers. Students are expected to be fluent in at least one other language, have a higher qualification AND ideally work experience.

Our English and internship programme offers to combine English studies with internship placements. Diverse job areas are available. Placements are determined by the students English level.

ETC takes pride in knowing our interns are looked after and comfortable when making the transition into living and working in New Zealand. Our care and excellent internship service will be apparent from your initial contact with us. Our ideal ambition is to provide our interns with a positive life changing experience.

ETC has a step by step process in placing our students within their desired internship field. Once we have received your complete application, we immediately start searching for a suitable internship.

With local business contacts and easy access to every NZ career industry, we are confident we will find an internship within your field of interest.
After an internship has been found and verified, we provide pastoral care support with obtaining a visa, flights, insurance, accommodation, specialized licenses or qualifications and answering any questions.

Information to consider before signing up for our program:

  • Food, living expenses/accommodation, flights & travel expenses are not included
  • Internships are generally unpaid (exeptions apply)
  • Internships take between 6-26 weeks
  • Visa fees are not included
  • Internships can be part of a degree
  • Internships can also be done if you are not enrolled with a University
  • Internships can be done when you just would like to gain experience
  • Age restriction is between 18-30 years of age

Our aim is to provide paid and/or unpaid supported work opportunities to International students and young professionals.

Our team highly values, honesty and integrity of information. As a long standing business entity of 20years, we will represent your abilities and needs both verbally and in written contractual form.

These values will lead to strong bonds of successful support and program follow through firstly with ETC staff and then employers and their personnel staff.

The programme

Students study English full-time for at least 6 weeks. Afterwards they can complement their English skills with work experience in areas such as Marketing, Retail, Sports, Economics, Event Management, IT, and many more.

As a special highlight ETC offers paid internships in hospitality. We`ve partnered up with Accor Hotels Group. Students study part-time (15 hours per week) and work part-time (20-25 hours per week). A great way to fully compensate the cost of studies. Additional benefits for the students are: free access to Accor online university, free uniform and dry-cleaning, one meal per working day, discount on Accor Hotel bookings etc.

English courses available are General English, Academic English and IELTS preparation.

Accommodation
Students can choose to stay with a host family or share self-serviced apartments with other students of the programme.

Please note: Salaries vary, depending on English level and professional experience of candidates.
