Rangitoto College, (age 13 - 18) Mairangi Bay

Rangitoto College is a state co-educational high school based on the North Shore of Auckland, New Zealand. We are New Zealand's largest high school with a roll of over 3000 students. Rangitoto College has hosted international students for many years. We have an experienced team of international staff who are dedicated to the academic and pastoral needs of our students.

International students enjoy the challenge of an excellent academic environment. They also benefit from a strong pastoral care network who help with any worries or concerns. An orientation programme on arrival helps students quickly settle into school life. They appreciate the numerous opportunities to play sport and music and to join in the many activities which make up Rangitoto College life. Most Rangitoto students go on to university or other tertiary institutions.

Homestay families are chosen carefully and live close by in large comfortable homes usually within walking distance to a local beach. Rangitoto College has an extensive range of facilities spread over a 31 hectare campus. There are numerous classrooms, an auditorium with seating for over 1,500, a library with more than 20,000 titles, three gymnasiums and an olympic standard water based Hockey turf to list but a few of the school's facilities.

Our international students are proud of their school and benefit from their world class educational experience. The normal academic year runs from February to December in four 10 week terms. Intakes of International Students are taken in February, May, July and October.

We aim to develop creativity, social responsibility and leadership qualities in our students. Cultural activities in Visual Arts, Music, Dance and Drama are complemented by sporting excellence and overseas exchange visits. Our students excel in academic, sporting and cultural fields at local, national and international levels. Most students go on to university and professional careers.
